Writing thoughts.
Dec. 15th, 2019 12:29 amIt's getyourwordsout signup time again and I'm just... not sure what I'm doing.
On the one hand I really like having a community and a goal to strive for. On the other... even their lowest pledges are so much more than I can generally manage in a year. I did the lowest habit pledge this year and got... about halfway? Which is better than nothing! But not great. For wordcount, maybe about 11k, though I may have forgotten to put some things in, I honestly don't know; the lowest pledge is 75k and I've never gotten anywhere close.
I know there's no issue with not meeting your goal, and half the point is to strive for something big, but it also kind of gets discouraging to sign up for the same thing over and over and never even come close to the goal, you know? There is no way I am managing to win this one until... I don't even know. I somehow managed to defeat my brain and become an organized person.
(Also, I signed up to do word war hosting this year, and I actually really enjoyed it! I think it helped a little! But my year derailed so fucking hard in like... March, that I never got back to it, and I feel real awkward signing up just to do that. Or offering after I derailed so hard.)
... Anyway, I think what maybe I'm trying to say is I don't suppose anyone knows any goal-oriented writing comms with much lower minimums for the year, or personalized goals or ... something? Because I'm at the point of considering making a low-key community if I can get a handful of people interested, just to have the chance to make a goal I might actually manage to hit.
