It's here! One of my favorite time of year! With two days to a topic this time, so I may actually manage to keep with it!

Challenge #1: In your own space, introduce yourself! Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

I have a sticky post introduction here, so I'm going to try not to repeat too much, but the short form for anyone who doesn't want to click over: Hello! I'm [personal profile] fullupwithfire or August. I'm 29, in Tennessee, nonbinary, queer, chronically and mentally ill, and very very fannish.

My main fannish participations are fic and the occasional graphic, but I've done podfic and vidding a couple times in the past and really hope to pick them both up again. I also rec things occasionally and have been trying to do more of that. I've been in fandom for about sixteen years now and it's still one of my main hobbies. My output and consumption/interaction have both been on the lower end lately due to other things, but it's still something I deeply love.

Until this year my main fandom was MCU, but I've fallen out with it over the more recent movies. I haven't seen a lot of the latest phase and only really reread/rewatch in the fandom anymore. There will be the occasional recs, but I'm not really into more recent parts.

My current favorite fandom is the Umbrella Academy tv show, with the tiny fandom for the album The Bifrost Incident being a close second. I haven't had a longer fandom list for a while -- mostly because a lot of them come with the caveat of "I love this fandom, but I'm this far behind" or "I love the early parts of this, but I'm not really into anything past this" -- but I am into a lot, because I sort of hoard fandoms and never leave them. Some I've been into recently include Firefly, Harry Potter, Hannibal (tv show), The Devil's Carnival, Sanctuary (mostly Five-related parts of it), White Collar (early seasons), Burn Notice (early seasons), Chess (the musical), Pushing Daisies, Community, The Good Place, and many, many more.

As my interests in fandom go, I'm a multishipper and generally there's a host of ships for any given fandom/character that I'm into. My NOTPs are rare and few between. I do tend towards favorite characters, or favorite groups of characters, and some fandoms I'm pickier about who I'm interested in reading about than others, but generally my tastes lean broad. I like lengthy fic but will happily read short, love vids, am bad about listening to podfic but love it when I do, and am even worse about seeking out fanart but really appreciate it when I see it. I'm also into a whole host of various tropes and really big on AUs of all kinds.

I've got nothing else I can think of to add, but I'm always happy to answer questions, so feel free to throw me any if you've got 'em! :D

Hello, it's so good to meet you! I love the Umbrella Academy, too, although I haven't explored the fandom much for that one -- and I hear you about recognizing that MCU canon has made some stupid-ass decisions, so we're ignoring them. :D

Hi there! I love the hoarding of fandoms concept - that's precisely what I do too. And wow, it's so good to see Pushing Daisies on your list! It was such an excellent show.

Chess. I love chess. I never once considered doing fanfic for it. Weird.... (Here from the Snowflake Challenge).

I'm sorry you've been turned off by the recent MCU output. I have been plugging my ears a lot and singing 'lalalalala' and basically ignoring what I don't like as best I can. And reading a lot of post-TWS Steve/Bucky, lol!

I saw that you're learning to knit - so am I! I learned last year, but am still very much a beginner. I've been working on an afghan (a Christmas present, hahaha!) that's 20 identical squares, so I'm getting really good at the regular stitch, but will have to re-learn a lot when I move on. (I think I could do these squares in my sleep now, lol!)

Also, White Collar, yay!
