Believe me, I am still alive. (Also, Halloween movies?)

Soooo... that was not me coming back to Dreamwidth.

I have spent the last couple of months dealing with depression, dealing with family's issues, handling my cat getting sick (turns out she has food allergies, all is better now), and on the plus side, running tabletop and doing some extensive worldbuilding reworking for original stuff.

So I continue to be sporadic, but I also love you all and will try to catch up soon.

Unrelatedly -- so for a few years on and off now I've talked about wanting to put together a group to watch some favorite seasonal Halloween movies. I finally said fuck it this year, and made a Discord server. I'll be putting on movies on alternate Tuesday and Sundays (to line up with brother's work schedule and get some privacy), starting tonight if people feel like hanging out. Anyone 18+ (because I don't want to judge what's appropriate for minors; my standards are not necessarily anyone else's and I just don't want that headache) is welcome, so here is an invite link if anyone wants to come hang out.

I feel you on the being quiet, plus I know for myself if I leave it too long then I feel just as bad for coming back as I do for leaving, but try not to if you feel that. It's not a job, you can be here as your brain lets you.

I hope things look up and you have fun with your movies :) I'd join but timezones don't make it a good idea.

♥ Oh, I definitely know that feeling. I try to ignore it because I know there's no reason to -- it's my own space and should be free to use and ignore when I need to, but it creeps up on my now and again. The reminder is always helpful, though.

What kind of movies might be on tap?

It's been quite a bit, and there's still more ongoing, but at least some of it has shaken out.

It's an eclectic selection of stuff that just kind of rings Halloween-y to me. Some thrillers, some nostalgia stuff, some witchy stuff, a very, very few actual horror movies because I'm a chicken (but if anyone else wanted to try and schedule watchalongs for stuff I'm not into you're welcome to it). My absolute-must-watches that are definitely going on (probably on Sundays, for other people's scheduling reasons) are Practical Magic, Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown, and the Midnight Hour. Otherwise a small selection of the other options available for example: Rocky Horror, Casper, The Craft, The Lost Boys, Nine Dead.

(I am also open to other suggestions honestly, as long as they're within my fear threshold on the times I happen to be running stuff, cause I don't have the computer power to leave it running for other people and ignore it. XD)

Those sound like fun. I suspect there is some time zone difference involved that will not allow me to participate in the Tuesdays, but maybe I can think about Sundays if I want some themed movies.
