The move-out is done. Ended up being a whole extra day and everyone is still burnt out and exhausted right now, around 28 hours after finished. But it is done.
I took today off despite not working Sunday/Monday either, cause I needed the break. Tomorrow I get back to work.
We are in the hotel, which so far seems fine. Living in one room is cramped but we do have a seating area with chairs, coffee table, and a desk as well as the beds so at least we're not as crammed in as we could be. We have fridge and microwave so there is food, even if it's not great food. (and if anyone has suggestions for easy food that can be made and consumed with a microwave, hot water boiler, and fridge for appliances, feel free to share? We are basically living on sandwiches, canned soup, and ramen, and I am super picky on my soup, and I feel like there's obvious other options here that I am just not thinking of.) We also have coffee, and we're getting through. Closing is proceeding; we took a whole nother step forward today, and I am just really hoping we keep going forward on this.
In an unrelated-to-moving update, my best friend bought me a ticket to watch the Rent 25th anniversary livestream with her, because we bonded over that show a lot as teenagers, and now I am full of nostalgia for it. I can see the flaws in the show so much better than I could at 13/14, but god, when I actually sit down and listen, they still don't matter. I'm sad that singing is not an option (cause, y'know, hotel), but there may be a full relisten or ten in my near future.
I feel like I'm missing stuff but it's 2 am and I think I need bed. <333 to all of you.
