WandaVision flails and theorizing
Brief RL update: Packing is going okay, everyone is trying, my mother's mostly managed to get on even keel and we're working with Q's outbursts of emotion. I am tired all the time, disappointed I could not fix things, working a lot, and relying on distractions to keep from getting lost in my own head.
On that note: WandaVision is maybe the best thing I have watched in years and I say that not because there haven't been other good things but because it's just so good.
(Just FYI, I am having a lot of fun with the theorizing so I am actively avoiding any leaks and spoilers. Trailer-based speculation is cool but please don't tell me anything definite that hasn't shown up yet in the show.)
The amount of self-control it took for me not to scream in delight in front of 2/3rds of my family at that episode's ending. YES GOOD MORE TWINS.
If I could have it 100% my way the next episode would be almost entirely focused on Wanda and Pietro and there'd be all kind of weirdness and fuckedupedness going on. Whether this is alternate!Pietro brought through a universal crack or it's pure casting stunt and it's some other poor person whose been mind-whammied into thinking he's her brother, I don't care, but either way I want there to be something clearly wrong, memories not lining up and him not acting quite right and Wanda having a hard time with it. Like, I feel like there might be a little of this, but I sincerely just want an entire 45 minutes (since the times seem to keep creeping up episode by episode) of this and maybe a little of Pietro bonding with Vision and the kids.
I do not anticipate this being an episode but I do hope someone writes that fic or else I'm going to have to write that fic.
That said, I am really enjoying the Jimmy/Darcy/Monica trio! They're great and I love the team-up and while I haven't seen either Ant-Man or Captain Marvel, seeing Darcy in the MCU again makes me happy! I just really want them to make up for how long it's been since we've gotten Wanda with her brother.
General speculation: God, I hope this is all Wanda. I know there's so much speculation going around about somebody else being in on it or controlling her, but I want so badly for Wanda to be the one in control of everything. It makes that scene where she came out of the bubble make so much more sense, and I just feel like it works so much better thematically with everything. I think the show's doing everything well enough that they could pull it off, but right now, if she's not the real power behind it, I think it's going to be a major letdown.
(Also can I just say, the revelation that being part of Wanda's world feels overwhelmingly of grief kills me.)
I think the person broadcasting isn't going to turn out to be a bad guy, but someone either watching this happen or inside of it happening who's desperate for help. Also, I'm calling Agnes as, if not a good guy, at least not a bad guy or the power behind it. Her moments of fear would be so out of place if that's the case, and she seemed genuinely stunned and interested in the idea that Wanda might be able to raise the dead. She might have some secrets going on and might be the one behind the broadcast, but I don't think she's the villain.
I don't know, I feel like I have more thoughts but in general I'm just really, really enjoying this ride. And between Jane being in the next Thor and upcoming Rhodey content, this may end in me getting dragged back into Marvel altogether. Dammit, Marvel. You got me again.

But honestly even if it ends up setting up absolutely nothing, it's all red herrings -- which I don't think it would be but even if it was -- it doesn't even matter because oh man it's so good and I'm enjoying this ride so much. I enjoyed the Marvel movies pretty consistently for a while there but I don't think I've ever been this impressed by them.

I would really doubt it was red herrings if I didn't know what I knew. Feige does very little without a reason and he wouldn't drop something massive like that just as a red herring.
