But first, I have two things to say:

The first is I'm supposed to be doing tabletop tomorrow and I am both nervous as fuck and VERY excited.

The second: So Psychic Wolves fest post just went up. And I am not writing more of the fic I started previously, because I am still just too bleh at MCU to go back to writing even super-canon-divergent fic in it.

But I could, I think to myself, write Umbrella Academy fic for it...

...And the first plot idea that comes to mind involves people being separated from their wolves, people adopting the wolves that are left behind when someone dies, and other grief-related issues.

Because apparently I only want to write one fic for this fest and I just don't care what fandom it's in. *facepalms*

(I'm also tossing around other fandoms, but Umbrella Academy and/or Bifrost Incident are most likely.)

(This also reminds me I need to figure out if I'm signing up for Chocolate Box this weekend. On the one hand, the only exchange I've managed to keep up with in years! On the other... coming up with a full signup is hard.)

I fully support your having a story to write for the fest, no matter what fandom it's in. Part of the narrative pleasure of obligate bonding is the pain that comes with breaking the bonds, and that totally makes sense to me. If you have the time and the words, write what your heart wants.

I'm definitely hoping to! I'm looking forward to giving it a shot, I'm just amused by how very stream-lined my wants in this particular area appear to be.

(Especially since the other fic I've wanted to write for Lupercalia for ages involves taking a group of friends who disastrously fall apart in canon, and giving them all wolves who don't understand why they can't still be a pack, which I feel like is just another variant on the theme of "sad wolves and mourning and also people's relationships with other people's wolves". XD)

Oo! What kind of tabletop are you doing? That is exciting :D

First session is going to start up a game of Vampire, which I'm excited for, cause I've always wanted to try World of Darkness. :D And then that group may also try other games, with rotating GMs, and there may also be a local D&D-specific game starting up in the next few months, so I have hopes for much tabletop in my future being possible.

Excellent :D I've never done Vampire, myself, but I have a lot of love for WoD (as I've played Mage and Werewolf and Changeling). I hope it goes well!
