Tarot, Thoughts, and various Things

Re health stuff from last post: The clinic was great, and gave me not only antibiotics but an idea of what's happening and what I can do as a preventative, so this is hopefully going to stop happening now. I already feel a little better in general? My ear is going a little back and forth, but it should be uphill from here.

Otherwise: I have the strong desire to do ALL THE THINGS.

For one thing, I have slowly worked my way back over to editing name Twitter, and am discovering a strong desire to do microfiction. Which is not no-stress, but still more fun than I expected.

Also on the subject of writing, I signed up for spook_me (...a couple times over, but I'm also already nursing ideas for all my signups before I even get the individual prompts) and am thinking about at least one exchange, maybe two. I also really want to start crossing things off my ficlist. And the desire to just write random shit, like start looking for tropes and write random shit, has been very strong the last couple of days.

Unfortunately, starting writing is still unbelievably difficult! So who knows what'll happen with that.

Other writing-related things: I know OC October doesn't really seem to be much of a thing anymore, but I still really like it in theory, and I'm really considering trying to do it this year. I have like... ten different ideas for things I could do for it, though. I'm vaguely considering trying to do a standard very-short profile for each character and then just figuring out what I'm in the mood to do for them on the day -- playlist, moodboard, ficlet, series of six-word or three-sentence stores, indepth profile/discussion, whatever. I haven't settled on that idea, but, I don't know, it's a thought.

Not writing! I may also join Bast in Tarot tomorrow, watch this space and see. It's a full moon, Friday the 13th, and a little more than a week until Mabon and the equinox, and I'm thinking about doing a thematic offer. I... am slightly awkward to do so because the last time I did I dropped the ball, but uh, that was also right before the kick-me-in-the-ass bad ear infection and the following couple months of lots of shit. (And also more recently me isolating terribly, which I am trying and failing to break out of. Hi. I'm working on it, but it's not going so well.) I also need to poke the people who asked and see if anyone still wants those. (...So if you did comment then and do and want to let me know, feel free.)

.... I also really need to start thinking about work stuff. The work issue continued until September because I failed to recognize it was... always going to do that, and I have fingers crossed I pass the evaluation at the end of the month and that's that, I, one, should probably still be doing something else til then, and two, should probably have plans if that does not happen. But I'm not thinking about that! Cause I am not the stablest today and I don't know what to do about it right this minute.

... Aaaand that's all I got. Maybe. I don't know, I'm clearly rambling a lot today, but I think I'm done for now. If you got through all that have a virtual hug. ♥

I'm glad you're feeling better physically! That helps a lot with feeling better mentally, too. :)

spook_me seems cool! Not something I'm particularly into, but, then, this is the season for a lot of exchanges I like. :) What exchange(s) are you thinking about?

OC October sounds like fun; I hope you figure out a way to do it!

I appreciate the lack of minimum and the low stress environment of spook_me -- it's a really chill setup, and that's part of what pushed me to finally go for it. I don't always jive with image prompts so who knows what'll come up with that, but creature prompts are totally up my alley anyway. XD I'm thinking about doing trickortreatex and/or shipoween, right now. They both have pretty low minimums and a fair few things I know nominated, and doing Chocolate Box has worked out pretty okay for the last couple of years. I think I'm distantly aware of some others going on but can't think of any off the top of my head -- which ones do you go for?

I think the proper day of the full moon is technically Saturday, but we're within that period where it basically counts. XD

I'm signed up for Trick or Treat -- I looked at shipoween but it doesn't have much I'm interested in -- and femslashex is going to open signups in a couple days, so I'm looking forward to that (writing/receiving femslash is my weakness). And then after that it becomes Yuletide season! Chocobox is also a great exchange, a nice way to begin the year.

Shipoween has TUA, which is my current obsession, and a couple of random ships I really like, so if nothing else I'll probably be watching sign-ups to try and do treats. XD And ooh, femslash! Always fun.

I love Yuletide in theory, and the one time I signed up and managed to write for it I actually produced one of the things I'm proudest of, but in practice I tend to be overambitious in my sign-ups and default. I do love watching it, though, and I keep considering giving it another shot.

If it would be totally stressful to go back and do the thing that happened before the infection from hell, I don't need it. It would be nice, but not at the cost of progress.

Aha, that makes sense :) It doesn't have any of my current small-fandom loves, and I'm not in the mood for writing Star Wars (my eternal big fandom). I hope you can do treats, at least!
