From cosmolinguist for the December days talking meme: I always like hearing about people's lives. What's a nice thing that's happened to you lately?

So, there's been a lot of stress in my life lately, but the one thing that's given me a lot of little moments of joy has been the weather. I've mentioned this before, but for new people, I moved from Florida to Tennessee earlier this year, after about 20 years living there, and the main reason I always hated Florida was the lack of changing seasons and the constant heat. It's been really nice to watch the seasons change; our apartment has a wooded area directly across the street, and going outside or peeking out the window to watch the leaves change colors and the trees die has been a real source of excitement.

And shortly before Thanksgiving this year, we had a day where it snowed.

It wasn't very much, it didn't even stick really, but it was my first snow since I was, mmm, eight I think? I didn't even take trips outside of Florida until the last couple years, and even then, never in the winter. I've been waiting most of my life to have the cold and the snow back, and I just had a ridiculous amount of excitement when it finally was there.

I took pictures of it on the mailbox and the plants outside, because it was the only place you could tell:



In other nice news, Bast got me a paid account so I've been playing with icons. Man, I love having lots of icons.

Florida is the Actual Fucking Worst, and I say that having lived in fucking Houston, TX for four years. I'm glad you got out of there!

Me too! XD I have met so many people who hate Florida and I only know, like, one person who's lived there and like it. It really is the worst.

Aw, yeah. :3 I'm in Georgia and we recently just got our first little glimpse of snow and ice. January and February tend to bring more wintery weather so y'all have more too look forward to!

So I hear! I am super excited for it, but even if things just stay like they've been the last few weeks, this is still so much better than it ever got in Florida. :D

I was so excited. And the weather teased me for two days beforehand by promising snow that never happened, so by the time it came I was so ready.

Oh my gosh, the snow is so pretty! How gorgeous.

The plants outside are pretty in general but they're so pretty with the snow on them. The trees across from us iced over this last weekend, too -- I didn't get a picture but it was so beautiful.
